November 4, 2011 was a bittersweet day. I woke up in once again the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in (next to mine back home) and I certainly did not want to get up. I was leaving Forks. > :(
However I was enticed with the wonderful smells coming from downstairs. As I walked downstairs for my final breakfast at the Miller Tree Inn Bed and Breakfast, I was met with a lovely note left on the table. My Twilight Tour buddies left me a note telling me how much they enjoyed meeting me and wished me the best of luck with my job. Yea, I forgot to mention that EVERYONE in the town knew who I was because I was on the Missoula Children's Theatre truck and they all wanted to get to know me. The letter ended with a few other nice words. Yep I had a "Twilight Family". :) For breakfast I enjoyed the most delicious blueberry souffle. It was sooo fattening but I didn't mind one bit. I bid farewell to the owners (Bill and Susan) and I headed to Seattle to meet up with none other than Kelly Combs!
Kelly is from Seattle and she had that week unbooked as well and since I would be driving through Seattle, she and I planned to spend the afternoon together. Kelly and I meet up at this one restaurant, (I forget what it's called) but it served nothing but vegetarian dishes. I got some kind of Macaroni that had basil and tomatos. Not too bad. I would've liked it better with chicken but I guess that defeats the purpose. Haha! After Kelly and I shared crazy TAD stories and filled each other in on our lives, she took me around town.
What I loved was that she took me to see the REAL Seattle. Yea going to the Public Market is nice but been there done that! Kelly and I spent the afternoon in bookshops, vintage stores, and whacky stores that had squid fingers for your hands and all kinds of weird things that you would just have to see for yourself. Kelly also took me to go get some Gelato Ice cream. I have never had any before. Its kind of like frozen yogurt only lighter. I got two flavors (I know I was feelin CRAZY!) Pumpkin and Mint. I'll admit that those flavors may sound weird together but rest assure I ate them separately.
Side note: I kept thinking how funny we must have appeared. Here we were, two short redheads, hanging out together, both wearing a blue peacoat type jacket, jeans, brown boots, and a brown satchel purse going over our shoulders. We must have looked like we planned to dress. Remember when you would do with your best friend in fourth grade? Silly us. Teehee! Kelly also took me to go see if the rumors were true; I didn't believe her.
Trolls DO live under bridges!!!!!!
I had such a good afternoon with you Kelly. You are just a breath of fresh air. Thank you for showing me around town and for being a good friend. If your ever come through Virginia, you HAVE to let me return the favor. Thanks again Kelly. : )
Squid friends for life!
