Day 2 in Forks

Hello Friends,
After a wonderful nights sleep in a bed that was a comfortable as mine back at home I headed downstairs for breakfast. As I groggily walked down steps that were the size of a twinky right before I hit the last few steps my feet slipped out from under me. Thankful I grabbed the railing and didn't fall on my face. Needless to say it wasn't my most graceful moment. haha! While I waited for my breakfast I helped myself to trays full of pastries, fruit, yogurt and juice. Then I was given the most wonderful pumpkin pancakes I had ever eaten. They were sooo delish and I had so much that I begrudging couldn't finish them all. Believe me I TRIED!
I then headed back up to my room. I wanted to call the Sol Duc Valley Riders to see if I would be able to go horse back riding that day or later on that week. I talked to this sweet little old Lady, her and her husband take people out on the trails. I kindly asked her if they had any openings this week and she told me that unfortunately that they couldn't that week. She had company coming over that day and then for the rest of the week she and her husband would be in Seattle for some Doctor apointments.

My heart sank.

Just then at that very moment. I heard the screen door open and her husband say "I;m going for a ride". As if I was right there in the kitchen, she turned to him and said "Really? Well this young lady wants to go too."
"Does she want to go today?"
She said into the phone, "Does today work?"
I then tried not to shout, "Yes!"
Turning to her husband, "Yes she can go today. What time were you planning on going?"
"In a little bit. Tell her to be here around one and I should have the horses shoed by then."
YEAAAAA!!!!!!!! I honestly feel that this was no coinscedence, just the Lord's timing.
So I drove out to their (Sherry and Larry's) home. Again another lovely drive through the woods. I pulled into the long, winding, gravel driveway and was met by two sweet dogs. I pulled up right to the barn and what did I my eyes behold. Horses! Lots of horses. Not only horses but cows, donkeys and a llama. Haha! Larry was still working on the horses so I took this time to take some photos. I even dared to go see the llama. I got really scared. He kept looking at me funny and I kept thinking of that one youtube video where they guy tried to get away from the llama that kept trying to mount him. Eee! Scary.
Larry was finally ready with the horses (Taz and Patty) and his cowboy hat. I had Patty and with that we were on our way. As the two dogs followed us at the horse's feet, we took a trail that went all throughout the woods. It was pretty. Again, I LOVE FALL! I also loved the company. Sherry was tending to the company that was at the house so it was just Larry and I. We talked about so much. He asked about my job, my family, if I had a boyfriend and other things like Puerto Rico, where I saw myself in 10 years and so on and so on. I loved hearing about how he and his wife got started with this job, how they met (this is where he inserted his advice on boys haha!), their kids. We also talked about college, his time as a soldier during Vietnam and what he thought we were facing now in Iraq. He was such a sweet man. I'm not sure if it was his kindness, the fact that he wore a cowboy hat or both but he reminded me of Chuck Norris.
As we rode back to the house I realized that we had been gone for about three hours. I only paid for one hour. Sweeeeet! We all said our "Goodbyes" and then on the way back to the B&B I stopped at "The Hungry Bear" and got the yummiest frozen mocha I have EVER had! I was reminded that the day was Halloween because the young girl who made my drink was dressed in a Polka outfit or maybe she just wears that everyday. It's possible. : ) With drink in hand I drove back to rest my bum and to read.
After an afternoon of horse back riding and reading I was famished. I picked up some spinach and cheese pizza at the local pizza. As I sat eating my pizza and facebooking, Bill and Susan let me pass out the candy for the Trick or Treaters. Yep, thats right. I passed out candy at The Cullen house. haha! Once the trick or treaters were gone I headed up to my room to watch Twilight and settle in for a cozy night. Yep, a good day indeed. :D
